AKINA

Akina commenced her training at Vogue Entertainment (now known as Vogue Performers) at the age of 4. Nurtured by Marina and Leanna Del Basso, she has become an experienced performer in many genres of dance and musical theatre and has performed in various productions and events in Perth such as Nativity, Telethon, Beauty and the Beast, High School Musical, Legally Blonde, Fame, The Wizard of Oz and Grease The Musical. She continued her training at Vanguard Performing Arts under the guidance of Daniella and Matthew Papa. Akina grew aspirations to teach and completed a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, minoring in Science and Outdoor Education at The University of Notre Dame. In her last two years of her degree, she also completed a Certificate 3 in Dance through APAN Academy (now known as Matrix Pro Academy of the Arts), under the direction of Marina Del Basso and Raquel Muia. Akina currently works as a Secondary teacher at Wanneroo Secondary College and is delighted to be teaching at All That Jazz Dance Studio. She greatly enjoys helping students to build their self-esteem and challenge students to perform to their very best.
